Love “Star Wars” and Delicious Things? This Recipe Might (Will) Change Your Life
This holiday season is TWICE as exciting as last year's for one reason: NEW STAR WARS!!! This simple recipe, courtesy of Buzzfeed Tasty, combines the holidays AND Star Wars to make delicious and adorable Wookiee cookies.
Start by combining your flour, butter, sugar, molasses, water, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, salt and egg in one big mixing bowl.
Mix well!
Separate your dough into 3 equal parts, dusting with flour as you roll.
Cover with wax paper and pop in the fridge for at least 4 hours to let it chill.
Once chilled, dust a smooth working surface with a thin layer of flour and roll your 3 balls of dough out with a floured rolling pin until they are about ¼ inch thick.
Use your cookie cutter to cut out your shapes!
Give the limbs and head a little stretch to bring the cookie to Wookiee proportions.
Use a butter knife to draw fur on your Wookiee cookie, and do 2 big indents for eyes.
Stick them in the oven on parchment paper or right onto a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes at 350°.
As they're baking, microwave a cup of chocolate chips for 40 seconds, stopping every 10 seconds to stir.
Spoon your melted chocolate into a plastic bag and seal.
Cut off one corner of the bag to create a piping bag so you can draw Chewbacca's bandolier!
Place white chocolate chips across Chewbacca's chest, then pipe chocolate eyes and a nose.
Let them cool before you plate and serve!
