This Is the Workout You Should Try, Based on Your Zodiac Sign

The word "workout" can either make us jump out of our seat with excitement, or cause our eyes to roll.

But based on our findings, the divisive term can actually be a neutral one. While something intense like Crossfit won't be for everyone, it doesn't mean there isn't a workout that's right for you. And, believe it or not, when you were born has a lot to do with the specific exercise that may fit you best.

Keep reading for the workout you should try, based on your zodiac sign!

Aries (March 20 – April 19): Crossfit

Fiery and always on the move, Aries, you thrive for putting all that endless energy of yours to good use! As probably the most high-impact workout around, Crossfit will give you the adrenaline rush you crave, while also allowing you to embrace your natural-born competitive side, as this intense form of fitness is all about matching up against others, and even competing with yourself. Whether you're doing deadlifts, pull-ups, burpees or box jumps, there's no moment of rest until your fast-paced workout is complete—but that's exactly how you like it.

Taurus (April 20 – May 20): Hiking

An earth sign with an appreciation for beauty, Taurus goes hand-in-hand with hiking. Not only will a hike allow a Taurus to take in the scenic radiance of the hilly outdoors, but they'll know what to anticipate going into the workout. As a grounded, reliable sign, who isn't big on unpredictability, you'll already know to expect some incline and a peaceful mindset as you complete this experience—that is, of course, unless a rattlesnake jumps out at you (we kid, we kid)!

Gemini (May 21 – June 20): HIIT

Ah, Gemini, selecting a workout fit your indecisive sign is a challenge. One minute you want the low-impact lengthening and strengthening of Pilates, but by the time you arrive to class, you're already wishing you could take on a fast-paced challenge like spin. What are we going to do with you? Rest assured, every sign has a workout that's right for them—even yours. Based on your inability to be alone or to stay in one place for long, we think HIIT (high intensity interval training) is your ideal match. Not only does the class divide up a handful of different (and doable!) workouts into one class, they're also pretty packed and encourage a community-like environment, garnering cheers from everyone around you.

Cancer (June 21 – July 22): Yoga

As one of the most emotional and intuitive signs in the zodiac, Cancer, you feel a deep connection to your soul. While you wear a hard shell on the outside, the person you know is very in touch and open with your emotions and surroundings. Therefore, yoga is a fit for you. The sometimes-slow-moving workout that can require you to dig deep within yourself is no threat, as you don't have a problem being alone with your thoughts. While some signs will absolutely dread stationery poses like Savasana, you're okay not being constantly on-the-go.

Leo (July 23 – Aug. 22): Hip-Hop Dancing

Hip-hop is one of the most fun workouts out there, but you've got to be open to carelessly putting yourself out there if you're going to succeed. And, Leo, there's no better fit for this form of exercise than you, the most confident, attention-loving sign of the zodiac. Theatrical, creative and cheerful, you'll walk into the dance studio with your head held high and your feet ready to take on any choreographed number, regardless of complexity. The other dancers have no choice but to look at you perform, and they'll be in awe with how quickly—and confidently—you catch on.

Virgo (Aug. 23 – Sept. 22): Barre

Methodical and hardworking, we can't imagine a Virgo being a better fit for any workout more than ballet-influenced barre. The low-impact, quiet classes focus on small movements that target specific sets of muscles, using isometric exercises. The workout requires much focus and form, so the perfectionism of a Virgo is just the characteristic to master this exercise.

Libra (Sept. 23 – Oct. 22): Jogging

Whether you like to admit it or not, you tend to judge a book by its cover, Libra. You're not about to waste away in just any ol' gym or studio, which is why taking in a workout where you can choose your surroundings is a perfect fit. Jogging is an exercise that allows you to workout where you want, and with a pal—something you value greatly. Overall, you're the perfect candidate to join a sports team, due to the camaraderie you crave, but if we're just talking about workouts right now, grab a partner and go for a jog!

Scorpio (Oct. 23 – Nov. 21): Boxing

As one of the most hardworking, passionate signs of the zodiac, boxing is for you, Scorpio. You're an all or nothing kind of gal, and this workout is not for the weak or lazy! As a sign who tends to keep their emotions bottled up inside, boxing allows you to let it all out—and the best part is there's so much direction involved in this activity, you won't really have time to dwell on the thoughts you're so desperately trying to get out.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22 – Dec. 21): Rock Climbing

You live for adventure, Sag! And what better one to complete than rock climbing? Combine your knack for mastering high-intensity strength exercises with your love for the outdoors—and voila! Because you're one of the most travel-oriented signs of the zodiac, this is a perfect opportunity to research out-of-town spots that offer rock climbing lessons, and convince a parent or older sibling to take you away for the day. But be warned, outdoor rock climbing is incredibly challenging (and potentially dangerous), so we highly recommend taking a few indoor lessons (as seen in the video below) first!

Capricorn (Dec. 22 – Jan. 19): Pilates

As the most Type-A sign of the zodiac, a workout focused on form and discipline is what suits you best. That's why we recommend giving Pilates a go; it's a workout similar to Virgo's Barre. Pilates improves flexibility, builds strength and develops control and endurance in the entire body. It puts emphasis on alignment, breathing, developing a strong core, and improving coordination and balance. As a sign who tends to be a bit of a judgmental perfectionist, you'll share a room with fellow fitness-goers who are known to pride themselves on error-free exercise.

Aquarius (Jan. 20 – Feb. 18): Spinning

While indeed you're a bit reserved and enjoy being independent, you still do embrace an energetic atmosphere, Aquarius. You absolutely loathe people who are clingy or want to hang out all the time, but that doesn't mean you mind being in big crowds. Based on all of this, taking a spin class on a stationery bike sounds like just the workout for you. You'll be in the presence of other people's high energy, while still remaining focused and in your own zone. You can't stand dull or boring situations, and the fast-paced, high-impact experience of a spin class is anything but monotonous.

Pisces (Feb. 19 – March 19): Swimming

Pisces, you're a water sign who loves the ocean more than anyone, so it's a total no-brainer that swimming is the ultimate workout for you! Whether it's throwing on a wetsuit and diving under the waves, or simply signing up for a local swim lesson, practicing your breaststroke (among other things) will not only get you into the water, but swimming is an awesome full-body workout that's as challenging as the next.
