Zolita on the Story Behind New Single ‘Grave’ and Touring With Bebe Rexha
Today, May 31, is a historic one for fans of pop singer-songwriter Zolita.
Tonight marks her momentous kick-off opening for Bebe Rexha's Best F'n Night of My Life Tour. The North American tour begins in Phoenix, Arizona and travels the country with her before the tour wraps on July 1 in Los Angeles, California—and that's not the only thing Zolita has up her sleeve for us today. She also just released the new single "Grave"—the first song she's ever released without writing herself—an emotional pop ballad about rising above when someone hurts you and deciding to be the bigger person by moving on and refusing to give them more of your energy. The Story Behind 'Grave'
Zolita: My good friend and collaborators Katelyn Tarver and Davis Naish originally wrote this song, and when they played it for me, it immediately resonated so deeply that I knew I needed to record it. This is the first song I've ever put out that I didn't write and I'm so glad it's with people I love and admire so much.

What 'Grave' Means
Zolita: For me, the song is about choosing to be the bigger person when someone you loved really hurts you. It's so hard to not want to expose someone who has done you so wrong, but in the end, it feels more powerful to not give them your energy. I hope listeners who resonate will feel cathartic hearing it!

Zolita's Favorite Lyric
"Being over there felt like leaving my body, will it always haunt me?" I think this is just such a relatable feeling. When you go back to a place where something traumatic happened to you, you really feel it in your bones. And hopefully with time, that feeling lessens, but I think it never fully goes away.

On Touring with Bebe Rexha
Zolita: Oh my goodness! I am so unbelievably excited. I am such a Bebe fan, so I'm so looking forward to watching her show every night! I also can't wait to play cities I haven't been to yet.
I can't wait to play "Grave" live, since it'll be the first time! I also do a cover of "Before (S)he Cheats" that is a lot of fun to play.
